Planning Enforcement Officer

Location: Lilydale

One of our clients, a local council within the Lilydale area, is looking for a Planning Enforcement Officer to join their passionate team.

This Job is a casual role however will be for 38 hours per week and could lead onto gaining a full-time contract.

Your shift will start at 8.15am and will end at 5.25pm

Pay Rate: $45.70 Per Hour + Superannuation.

Starting: ASAP.

The purpose of the role is to provide effective and prompt planning compliance and enforcement resources as well as being involved in the preparation of policies and procedures relating to the implementation and enforcement of planning legislation and supporting documentation.

You will Need:

Relevant formal qualification or substantial related experience in the management and processing of planning enforcement and/or local law enforcement procedures.

Demonstrated experience in the investigation of planning related matters and/or similar regulatory environment.

The ability to carry out compliance and enforcement duties and display the ability to interpret and understand the following legislation:

– Planning and Environment Act and Regulations

– Planning Appeals Act and Regulations

– Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal Act

You will be:

Maintaining effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work responsibilities or environment; adjusting effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements, or cultures.

Assimilating and applying new job-related information in a timely manner.

Carrying out inspections effectively and promptly and applying appropriate enforcement/compliance action to ensure compliance with planning legislation and other relevant legislation.

Preparing general correspondence such as letters, Planning Infringement Notices and Planning Enforcement Orders and Prosecution Briefs as needed or as directed.
