Job Title: Weighbridge Operator

About the Role:

We are seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented Weighbridge Operator to join our Waste Management team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately processing customer transactions, inspecting waste loads, directing customers within the transfer station, and ensuring site operations are conducted safely and efficiently. You will play an important role in delivering excellent customer service while supporting compliance with waste acceptance requirements and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process customer transactions for vehicles entering and exiting the transfer station.
  • Inspect waste loads to ensure correct fees are applied and only approved waste is accepted.
  • Record customer, vehicle and transaction information using the weighbridge system.
  • Direct customers, visitors and contractors to the appropriate disposal areas on site.
  • Provide clear information on pricing, procedures and site requirements.
  • Process cash and electronic payments and complete daily transaction reconciliations.
  • Promote safe work practices and ensure customers comply with site safety requirements.
  • Monitor and report safety concerns, operational issues and non-compliance as required.
  • Assist with traffic management and general operational duties within the transfer station.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment while delivering high-quality customer service.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience working in a weighbridge, waste management or similar operational environment.
  • Experience using weighbridge transaction software, with Mandalay experience highly regarded.
  • Strong administrative and computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse range of people.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately process transactions and maintain records.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of waste types, vehicle classifications and safe work practices is desirable.
  • Ability to work in an outdoor operational environment and undertake occasional physical tasks.
  • Willingness to work weekends and varied hours when required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Police Check.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Coordinator Parks and Open Space to lead the planning, maintenance and continuous improvement of parks, open spaces and environmental assets across the municipality.

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality parks and open space services, managing a skilled team, coordinating capital works and maintenance programs, and ensuring community assets are safe, sustainable and well-presented. You will also play a key role in strategic planning, budget management, stakeholder engagement and the ongoing development of the service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Parks and Open Space team, providing coaching, supervision and performance support.
  • Coordinate the maintenance and improvement of parks, gardens, sportsgrounds, playgrounds, streetscapes, trees and natural environment assets.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans, policies and service improvement initiatives.
  • Manage operational and capital works programs, including project planning, procurement and contract management.

Key Requirements:

  • Certificate IV or higher qualification in Horticulture or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams within parks, open space, horticulture or a similar environment.
  • Strong project management, contract management and budget management skills.
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic plans, policies and service improvements.
  • Sound knowledge of parks, open space, tree management and natural environment practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong understanding of workplace health and safety and risk management.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Current Victorian Driver Licence.
