Infrastructure Maintenance Officer
One of our clients, a local council in the Southern Eastern Suburbs, is looking for an Infrastructure Maintenance Officer.
- Coordinate and perform the smooth action and compliance of infrastructure maintenance tasks on site
- Maintain roads, footpaths, storm water drainage system, street signs and street furniture within the Municipality
- Work cooperatively with team members and members of the public, escalating enquiries and problems as they emerge.
- Perform manual handling tasks such as lifting, digging, raking, sweeping and the use of mechanical tools.
- Correctly use and maintain plant and equipment provided, including personal protective equipment, in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and Council’s workplace health and safety policies, procedures and practices.
- Previous experience in infrastructure maintenance, especially in the areas of roads, footpaths, paving, storm-water drainage systems, street signs and street furniture would be advantageous.
- Ability to provide specialist training to other staff members in the use of the equipment.
- Thorough understanding of drainage maintenance.
- Knowledge in paving and concreting and asphalting techniques.
- Skills in maintaining street furniture and/or signage.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
- Capacity to provide on the job training and guidance as required.
- Ability to provide traffic control.
- Ability to correctly perform manual handling tasks and use and maintain mechanical tools, small plant and equipment.
- Current Drivers’ Licence with a Medium Rigid Truck Licence Endorsement and current Construction Induction Card competency. A current Spotters Ticket and Traffic Control would be desirable.
This Job is a casual role however will be for 38+ hours per week and could lead onto gaining a full-time contract.
Pay Rate: $45.93 Per Hour + Super.
Starting: ASAP.

Hours of work 6.45am – 3.45pm; Monday to Friday
20 minute morning tea break

MR (Medium Rigid) Licence is preferable.

Our client, a Local Council in the Northern Suburbs, requires a casual member to join their crew as a sweeper driver operator and cleaning allrounder.
Skills and Responsibilities include:
Carry out street sweeping duties on roads and streets of the council.
Operate all machines and equipment in compliance with Traffic and OH&S regulations.
Take pride in work and clean vehicles after use.
Report hazards and report incomplete work to supervisor.
Ensure duties are performed with due care and diligence at all times.
Maintain good relationships with the public, tradesmen and other council stakeholders.
Knowledge of Cleansing Maintenance activities, and the relevant Codes of Practice and industry standards.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
Current Victorian Heavy Rigid (or greater) drivers licence
Sound knowledge of OH&S requirements
Prior experience using a street sweeper is essential
Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised
Ability to work in a team environment
Good verbal and written skills
Will need to undertake a Police Check and Working with Children check upon successful placement

Drainage Labourer
One of our clients, a local council near Dandenong, is looking for a Drainage Labourer to join their passionate team.
This Job is a casual role however you will be working 38 hours per week.
Pay Rate: $34.90 + Superannuation.
You will Need:
Experienced in drainage construction and maintenance practices and processes.
Experience in operating and maintaining specialist drain cleaning plant and equipment.
Previous experience with stormwater drainage network.
White card essential.
Traffic Management Ticket preferred.
Must be used to working in an outdoor environment and capable of working in a physically demanding job.
You will be:
Operating specialised drainage plant and equipment to clean and maintain underground drains, pits and easement drains.
Repairing and replacing small sections of underground drainage and house drain connections as required.
Maintaining written records of all works undertaken and locations worked.
Ensuring plant equipment, including toolboxes, are locked and secured at the end of the working day and keys returned to designated location.
Acting in a courteous, so-operative, responsible and professional manner at all times.
